Structure

The Federation is an active member of the Council of Economic Unity of the League of Arab States, which includes institutions and companies from fifteen Arab countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

Its structure consists of an administrative body represented by a president, four vice presidents, a general secretary, and members of a board of directors whose number ranges between one and three members per country according to the size of the institutions of that country. It also has a special system whereby things are run and affairs are managed.

The Presidency is assisted in managing affairs, following up and implementing decisions, a body composed of:

Board of Directors

The structure of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Federation is composed of the members that are directly elected from the general committee of the Federation. 
Their number is proportional to the number of the Arab countries to which the Projects members of the Federation belong. Such number is multiplied by three provided that all paper industries including paper, printing and packaging are represented.

According to the present regulations, the General Committee of the Federation elects the members of the Board of directors for a 3-renewable-year period.

The Board of Directors of the Federation meets within one week as of the date of its election and chooses amongst its members a President and vice presidents.

The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Federation is composed of the members that are directly elected by the group members in each country separately. Such election is legally certified by the General Assembly of the Federation provided that the representatives of each country in the Board of Directors do not exceed three members. 

The representation of the sectors of paper, printing, packaging and processing industries should be applied.
The Board of Directors meets every six months at least. The President convenes for a meeting three weeks prior to the fixed date. 
The Agenda of the meeting will be included in the invitation.

The Board of Directors can meet upon the General Secretary's suggestion and the approval of the President or upon the request of the one third of the members.

The Federation's Membership

The Federation comprises a group of public and private institutions, committees syndicates, companies and offices authorized to operate in the Arab Countries within the field of Paper, Printing ,Filling and Packaging industries as well as the institutions working in trading and marketing the products of Arab paper industries, its derivatives and other industries varieties that are either directly or complementarily related to the above mentioned industries.

The Federation's membership consists of the following levels:

1- Active members

The Arab institutions, companies, committees and projects operating in the field of paper, printing, filling and packaging industries.
It is compulsory that the representative of the active member in the federation's bodies be of Arab nationality.

2- Adherent members
  • The committees, institutions and offices that are specialized in trading and marketing the products of the Arab Paper industries and its derivatives as well as the ones that establish and execute the business that is directly related to the Federation's activity.
  • Arab consultancy offices operating in the domains that are mentioned in the article N0. 2 two of the present regulations.
    Specialized quality Federations operating in similar scopes of activity as well as Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Arab countries.
3- Are Observant members
  • The Board of the Economic Arab Unity.
  •  Arab organizations each specialized in its own field.
    The Board of Directors has the right to invite any particular person from the Arab organizations and quality Federations to attend as an observant if needed.
